Recently, Community Association Law Attorney Hannah Rullo was featured in an article by Brandon Cruz of The Sun. Here, she touched on the new laws that went into effect on July 1, 2024, which now limit the powers of Florida homeowner’s associations (HOA) over people and what they can and cannot do with their properties.
For example, the new laws ban HOAs from prohibiting backyard vegetable gardens or clotheslines. Plus, HOAs can no longer require review and approval for work on central air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating, or ventilating systems, so long as they are not visible from the outside view.
With this, Hannah Rullo states she is working to ensure HOAs are up to speed with these newly implemented laws.
